Disability North is a free Independent Living Service which works with and for disabled people, empowering them to maximise the control they have over their own lives. The Service Team can provide information, advice and support on all issues relating to disability, including welfare rights, equipment, self-help groups, holidays, community care, housing and adaptions. Disability North also provides training on a wide range of disability topics and can give advice on the Equalities Act and access issues.

Their target group is anyone with a disability in the North East of England, their carers and families of children with disabilities.
