Service description:Northumbria University in Newcastle offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate study programmes on a full or part time basis in a range of subject areas such as accounting and finance, architecture, the Arts, Business, computing and IT, Design, Education, Law, Media and Communications, Midwifery, nursing and psychology.
The University’s Disability Support Team offers information, advice, guidance and support to disabled students, those with a long standing medical condition, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Asperger’s Syndrome, mobility or sensory impairments or a specific learning difficulty such as dyslexia or dyspraxia which may affect their study. Cash bursaries of between £1,000 and £4,000 are available for some students where household income is less than £40,000 per year and eligibility is determined when students apply for one or more elements of the government’s student finance package (Tuition Fee Loan, Maintenance Loan and Maintenance Grant).
