Service description:
This is a FREE and confidential support service for children and young people aged 8-18 years who live in Gateshead and have caring responsibilities. Young carers may provide support to brothers and sisters who have a behavioural problem, autism, cerebral palsy or learning disability. The type of support available will depend on the individual but can include:

• Information, advice and advocacy
• Opportunities to meet other young carers and make new friends
• School drop-ins
• ‘Time-out’ from caring
• Quarterly newsletters
• 1:1 emotional support
