Service description:
Sunderland College offers a range of full and part time academic, vocational and apprenticeship courses and programmes for school leavers (age 16-18), adults and those wishing to study at higher education level. Subjects available to study include art and design, applied science, IT including gaming development and mobile technology, hairdressing and beauty therapy, dance, engineering, sport, business, care, strategic management and leadership and counselling.

The college provides a specialist learning support team for those requiring extra help, including those with specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, visual impairment, Autism Spectrum Disorders and those with access and mobility difficulties. Full time students aged 16-18 could be eligible for a Bursary worth £1,200 depending on household income and/or if they are in receipt of specific benefits. The college also has Learner Support Funds available to assist students aged 19+ with the general cost of attending college including travel, books, equipment and childcare. Full time students aged 19-23 who are either financially dependent on parents or have an individual income of less than £11,810 could be eligible to receive a grant of £600 and an iPad mini.
