Service description:Gateshead Carers Association is a charity that helps carers living or working in the borough. They provide confidential advice and information alongside practical and emotional support for carers. They campaign to influence policies at local government and with employers and service providers to improve carers lives.
They can offer tailored confidential support, advice and information for people who provide unpaid care and assistance for a loved one, friend or neighbour who could not manage without this help. Support workers can help carers with benefits, housing, adaptations, hospital discharge, educational transition, the statementing process, and advocacy or just be a listening ear when needed.
