Service description:Gateshead Access Panel provides case advocacy and advocacy support for disabled people including younger disabled people, their carers and parents. They aim to assist and empower people to obtain services they are entitled to, for example, social services, equipment services, adaptations, housing and education. Sometimes this means at appeals and making complaints.
Services available include:
• Providing a voice so that the individual’s views and wishes are heard
• Helping make sure that individuals receive the services and support they need by providing the information needed to make choices and decisions
• Helping individuals to live independently and improve their quality of life
