Service description:This service provides intervention that helps children develop appropriate social play and learning skills. Occupational therapists support children so they can carry out the activities that they need or want to do in order to lead healthy and fulfilling lives.
The package of care provided includes assessment of the child’s needs, goal planning with the child and family, therapy intervention and treatment, assessment for specialist equipment and minor adaptations where appropriate.
Occupational therapists work closely with other professionals and work in the child’s home, nursery or school, health centres and other community locations depending on the needs of the child.
