Apply for a School place for admission in September 2026


If you live in Gateshead, you can apply online for your child’s school place from 8 September 2025.

To apply:

  • click on ‘submit a school admission application’ below
  • if you haven’t used the system before, you’ll need to create an account
  • if you already have an account, sign in using your email address and password.

You can use this system to:

  • apply for a primary or secondary school place (starting Reception or Year 7 in September 2026)
  • apply for a junior school place if your child is currently in an infant school (starting Year 3 in September 2026)
  • apply for a place at a first, middle or high school in another borough (starting Reception, Year 5 or Year 9 in September 2026)

Closing dates for applications:

  • secondary, middle and high school applications - 31 October 2025
  • primary and junior school applications - 15 January 2026

If you do not live in Gateshead, you must apply via your home Local Authority.
