Welcome to Gateshead's Online Parent Portal

School Admissions 

If you live in Gateshead, you can apply online for your child's school place from 9 September 2022. 

You will need to create an account if you haven’t used the system before. If you are an existing user and have a password, you can sign in to make your application.

Sign in or create account to start your child's application. 

Please make sure you apply by the closing date:

Secondary closing date: 31 October 2022

Primary closing date: 15 January 2023

You must read the primary / secondary school information booklet before you apply.

If you live outside Gateshead, you can not apply using this system.  Please apply via your home local authority.


Check eligibility for free early education & childcare for 2 year olds 30.1.2023 We are currently experiencing problems with the on-line checker, however please continue to submit your details and a member of the team will re-run the check for you and respond to you within 24 hours.

You will need to create an account if you haven’t used the system before. If you are an existing user and have a password, you can log in to check your child's eligibility online.

By submitting an eligibility check you agree that you have read and understood our  privacy policy, and you consent to us contacting you using the details you provide.

The eligibility check is based on economic criteria and you will need your National Insurance (NI) or NASS  number to complete the check. If you feel you meet the Special Educational Needs or Care and Adoption Criteria, or you are applying from outside Gateshead, please contact the Family Information Service on 0191 433 5118 or email fis@gateshead.gov.uk
