Apply for a School Place
If you live in Gateshead you can use this system to apply online for your child's school place.
If you do not live in Gateshead you must apply directly to your home local authority, even if the schools you want to apply to are in Gateshead.
To submit an application for your child's school place - please create an account following the 9 September and follow the instructions.
Summer Born Children - If your child is summer born and you want to request that they are admitted outside of their normal age group, please refer to Section 2 of this booklet before submitting your form.
Joseph Swan Academy - Please note that Joseph Swan Academy has changed it's name to Grace College. If you want to apply to this school as one of your preferences it will appear as Grace College on the application system.

Check eligibility for free early education & childcare for two year olds
If you live in Gateshead, you can use this system to check if your two year old is eligible for a free education and childcare place at a day nursery, pre-school or with a childminder.
You will need to create an account if you haven’t used the system before. If you are an existing user and have a password, you can log in to check your child's eligibility online.

The eligibility check is based on economic criteria and you will need your National Insurance (NI) or NASS number to complete the check.
